BIRCH PLYWOOD – EVERYTHING YOU NEED KNOW
1.B/S Grade
The highest surface grade of birch plywood on the market. Clean, free of patches, no cracking defects, and uniformly light in color. Ideal for varnishing, lacquering or staining, usually used only for the highest end furniture, design projects. The difference between this and S grade is relatively small.
2.BB Grade
The most common ‘cabinet-grade’ face. onlya few repaired veneer cracks and pin knots are allowed. Larger open knots were repaired with wooden patches. The number of repairs is limited to 8 per square meter. Ideal for cabinets, table legs, or products that need to be painted.
3.CP Grade
Typically comparable to BB grade, but may have more repair marks, open defects and discoloration, has all defects repaired, is functional but less aesthetically pleasing, and makes an excellent Paint-Grade panel or as a substrate. as HPL plywoodsubstrate or furniturehidden structural component.
4.C Grade
Lowest quality birch plywood face grade. Usually unsanded, allowing for a large number of defects such as knots, cracks, etc., structurally sound, unimportant in appearance, usually used as secondary structural elements such as side panels of packing boxes and subfloors of building formwork.
